TILT DOWN REPORTER Vicki Wilkinson-Baker to CAMERA re in the Ellis trial in 1993 defence argued children's evidence was unreliable, they made up stories of abuse, today in the Court of Appeal one of the children (witness) withdrew her testimony, now defence says evidence of other children should be re-examined.

I/V Wendy Ball, spokesperson for the parents, re certainly a retraction by one child makes you look at her evidence, but I don't believe it affects the judgement or credibility of the other children, or the interview processes that have been scrutinised by the Depositions Court and the High Court.

V/O REPORTER re he was found guilty on three charges resulting from her evidence, the defence wants the convictions quashed and, if it can't get the remaining 13 convictions quashed, a retrial.

I/V Wendy Ball re the children's credibility is doubted by their parents, they're worried about the community's reaction in family homes again, see I told you it was all lies, when in fact we're saying our children have been accepted by the court as credible witnesses.
