Buck passing on Ellis
Letter to the Editor
by Richard Christie,
(Christchurch)

So Frank Haden believes a commission of inquiry into the Ellis case is now almost inevitable (June 29). One ought not to lose sight of the tremendous damage this may cause to the health and well being of ordinary
Christchurch citizens.

I refer to the dangerous rise in the level of air pollution that will inevitably result as social workers, therapists and law enforcement employees scramble to burn reams of possibly incriminating paperwork.

Nevertheless, this country can look forward to witnessing the greatest spectacle of collective buck-passing since the Erebus and Thomas commissions and this may be some consolation.
