Ellis affair intrigues curious northern briefs

Auckland criminal lawyers and friends were awaiting confirmation that crusading author Lynley Hood, whose book A City Possessed - The Christchurch Civic Creche Case has prompted high-level calls for a commission of inquiry into the Peter Ellis affair, would be guest speaker at a criminal bar association function in August.

It seems, according to Our Man at the Bar, northern briefs are keen for insights into a bewildering case that many believe could only have been conceived in the garden city, now branded Salem of the South.
