It is of concern that the recent attempt to refocus public attention on the Peter Ellis case by the high-profile persons' petition may distract the public from the larger picture of what has happened in Christchurch.

There would seem to have been a disproportionate number of paedophile sexual abuse cases in Christchurch compared with other parts of New Zealand. Perhaps we should ask questions about this.

Is the Peter Ellis case part of a larger and different picture over time than has been considered thus far?
