Hard to relive pain

Parent involved in Chch creche case tells chief social worker it'll be hard to relive the pain when ad is published

New Zealand's chief social worker says the families involved in the Christchurch Civic Creche case are horrified at the prospect of seeing their children's testimonies in print.

Businessman Barry Colman is taking out a two-page newspaper ad tomorrow to highlight what he calls the inconsistencies in evidence against convicted paedophile Peter Ellis.

Child Youth and Family's Shannon Pakura says she is worried the ad will stop other children from speaking out against sex abuse.

She says one parent in the Ellis case told her it will be hard to relive the pain.
