Child testimonies to be released

Youth and Family (CYF) says it will not take legal action to stop previously
unreleased children's testimonies being published in a bid to clear Peter
Ellis' name.
Publisher Barry Colman plans to have transcripts of the interviews done during
the Christchurch Civic Creche case 10 years ago printed in newspapers on
Sunday.
CYF says the Crown Law office believes a court attempt to stop the interviews
being published would not be successful.
Its Chief Social Worker, Shannon Pakura, says the
interviews will not only rekindle the pain of the case for those involved but
could deter other children from giving evidence in future court cases.
