The Peter Ellis debate

We asked if the Peter Ellis transcripts had changed your views.

Dianne Farrell said: "It concerns me greatly that individuals who know little or nothing about sexual abuse and related issues, apart from their own subjective experience, believe that they are better judges of the complex Ellis case than trained professionals, courts of law and a commission of inquiry.

"One can only speculate that publishing transcripts is making money for someone at the expense of victims of sexual abuse everywhere."

Donna Hansen said: "Being a mum I was very interested in Peter's trial and every other similar case and there are a couple that have run the same course Peter's has.

"I would be very interested to see the layout of the actual creche and where these "molestations" are supposed to have happened.

"My family are all of the opinion there has been a miscarriage of justice and that hysteria has played a very subtle part."

Jan Curran said: "I felt very concerned when I read the transcripts relating to Peter Ellis.

"There is so much graphic material in there from a number of different children that leads me to conclude that the jury was right when they convicted Peter Ellis of gross acts of deviancy with children.

"No one can say for sure who or who was not involved.

"Even if the children have exaggerated their claims, there is enough there to cast doubt on Ellis and I for one wouldn't want children near him in the future."
