The
Christchurch Civic Creche Case |

The National Party
should be congratulated for being the only party to recognise that the basis of
a justice system lies in upholding the rights of an individual. I applaud
their commitment to setting up an appropriate inquiry into the Christchurch
Creche case and the circumstances of the unfortunate conviction of Peter
Ellis. (NZ Herald, 22 July) A solid moral
foundation for justice is urgently required. Other social and justice issues
associated with race, gender, sexuality, poverty, health, and the Courts,
need urgent attention. These can be better addressed by building on such a
foundation using the same ethical standards. |
