The lawyer for the
convicted paedophile Peter Ellis hopes to lodge his case with the Privy
Council within months. The former Christchurch
Civic Creche worker, who served seven years in jail, has always maintained
his innocence. A parliamentary
committee recommended last August that the Attorney General not oppose leave
for Mr Ellis's appeal. The issue has since
been handed over to the Solicitor General, Terence Arnold. But a spokesperson for
Mr Ellis's lawyer Judith Ablett Kerr says the appeal will proceed regardless. |
