	The Press February 19 2007 Address the criticism Letter to the Editor by Nancy Sutherland, St Albans An unknown Australian organisation, Bravehearts Inc (Feb 9), is alarmed because someone who turns out to be its sponsor, Professor Freda Briggs, has been criticised in these pages for her endorsement (by a foreword) to the 2006 publication Ritual abuse in Australia. Given that the subject is serious, I would suggest that the first step for this organisation's executive director should be to address the criticism of Briggs in a cohesive and open way, rather than leaping to this sponsor's defence without reflection. I hope Bravehearts is not linked to any of the dubious ritual abuse narratives that look to me as if some people can’t distinguish truth from fancy
