Christchurch Homicide: Girl found struggling for breath dies

Christchurch Police are investigation the death of a 10 year old girl who died in Christchurch Hospital last night.

Charlene MAKAZA, from Ilam was rushed to hospital after her caregivers discovered her unconscious in bed yesterday morning with breathing difficulties.

Her condition deteriorated through the day and she died shortly after 1am this morning without regaining consciousness.

Early indications from the Post Mortem examination indicate she died from suspected suffocation.

A scene examination is currently underway at the address and all the family members are being spoken to.
