Police say no arrest imminent in Makaza investigation
The police in Christchurch have held
a media conference to say an arrest is not imminent in their investigation into
the death of 10 year old Charlene Makaza.
Detective Inspector Malcolm Johnson
says the police have interviewed 25 people in relation to the inquiry.
Charlene died in hospital on Sunday
after being found unconscious in her bed and the initial post-mortem
examination indicates she was suffocated.
The police are not commenting on
injuries suffered by the girl, but say they do not believe her death was
accidental.
