Suspect free on bail

The Zimbabwean man accused of sexually violating and murdering his 10-year-old niece has been released from Christchurch prison and will live in Auckland until his trial.

In August, George Evans Gwaze applied for bail but his application, details of which were suppressed, was refused. Following an appeal this week, Gwaze was released on bail to his daughter's North Shore address.
