Man accused of killing niece faces April trial
Three weeks have been set aside for the
trial of the Christchurch man who is accused of murdering his niece.
Fifty four-year-old George Gwaze is
accused of the murder and sexual violation of his 10-year-old niece Charlene
Makaza, who died in January. Police say she was asphyxiated and sexually
assault.
The production technician denies
murdering and sexually violating the girl, who he and his wife adopted after
her parents died. The family all originates from Zimbabwe.
Gwaze will go to trial on April 28
next year.
