Crown says DNA likely to be that of George Gwaze found in Charlene Makaza's
underwear
The Crown has told
a court that DNA likely to be that of a Christchurch man accused of murdering
his 10-year-old niece was found in her underwear.
56-year-old George
Gwaze (gwar-zay) is charged with sexually violating
and killing Charlene Makaza in January last year.
The girl was found
unresponsive in her bedroom and taken to hospital.
The Crown
Prosecutor Chris Lange says ESR tests were done on her underwear.
The defence says
there was no sexual assault and Charlene Makaza died of natural causes.
