Teacher on indecency charges still on bail

An Invercargill primary school teacher accused of performing indecent acts on two boys will reappear in court in June.

Paul Alexander Conner, 41, a teacher at New River School at the time he was charged faces four charges of performing indecent acts on one boy at Invercargill between December 2005 and October last year. He faces a further charge of committing an indecent act on a second boy at Invercargill early last year.

Conner's lawyer, Phil McDonald, conceded in December that his client had a case to answer and Conner was yesterday further remanded on bail when he appeared in the Invercargill District Court.

Judge Kevin Phillips ordered him to reappear in court on June 26.

Conner's bail conditions prohibit him from associating with the alleged victims and their families in any way, including by text.
