Complainant admits being drunk and on drugs

A woman who alleges she was raped by a former league player has admitted being drunk and on drugs at the time.

Tea Ropati is on trial in the Auckland District Court on six charges relating to the 2006 incident.

The female complainant, who met Mr Ropati at a bar in Ponsonby, says she'd been drinking heavily that night.

She also told the court that she'd consumed a small line of cocaine.

The woman says as a result her memories of the evening are sketchy, but she does remember waking up in the back-seat of a car with Mr Ropati on top of her.

She's also said there's no doubt in her mind she was raped, despite the accused maintaining the two did not have sex.
