Radio NZ The crown says a former rugby
league star on trial for rape was on the prowl the night of the incident. 41-year-old Tea Ropati is accused
of raping a woman who he'd met in a Ponsonby bar in 2006. The Crown says the former rugby
league player had been earlier seen kissing and flirting with a number of
women. It says he took advantage of the victim's
drunken and drugged state, at times violating her while she was unconscious. Tea Ropati has denied having sex
with the woman saying any other activity they engaged in was consensual. But the Crown says it has evidence
to suggest otherwise. |
