From a partner's perspective

A wife's tale

They came one school morning a cold winter’s day
Four days post my birthday the12th day of May
Took my husband away and put him in jail
Told me no way would he get to make bail.

Fed me hysteria wouldn’t tell me the truth
Had me believing until I saw proof
Tried to persuade me a story was true
But that story was fantasy, oh how it grew.

Waited a week for a dad to come home
Battling on and feeling alone
Accused by a loved one of phone calls malicious
But I’d changed my number to avoid the suspicious

Stories told of my actions were also quite false
Got authorities dancing the paranoia waltz
CYFS then did greet us one day after school
Had received false complaints that were lies and so cruel.

Med staff saw a client now and again
Thought that their problems were all very plain
Shouldn’t have looked for somebody to blame
Genetics were bad, and a family’s shame

A depositions date set and then got postponed
More lies to be told more complainants were phoned
Lay some more charges defendant surprise
But by now we were bored of pathetic sad lies.

Back to court for the third time the time for denial
Set a date for the big time, a Christmas pretrial
Our house had been lost now with lawyers to pay
We had no insurance, and survived day by day

Our futures now based on a family's hate
The evil they’ve caused us has sealed our fate
But we’ve faith in God and his merciful love
Justice fails on earth but never above

The truth will get out and then we’ll be done
On courage, and honesty we’ve already won
We’ve seen the injustice, and vile collusion
The filth, and the lies, paranoid delusion

They rejected a loved one and now it’s too late
But for them I guess some losses are not too great
Some people care more for image, and wealth
Than for children, and loved ones, and their own mental health.

At solving life’s problems they were so inept
Now they are paying the worst of life’s debt
They’ve learnt now that some secrets are not to keep
They cause too much pain and wounds that run deep

They’ll watch lives destroyed by a tragic manipulator
Guilty as well for they support a sad perpetrator
Watch gorgeous children who just want their Dad
The security, comfort, and life that they had.

What kind of person could hurt a small child?
Only a family that should be reviled
A family that have fallen far short of their goal
Pity these people, and pity their soul.
