A Falsely Accused man

Ode to NZ Justice
(To the tune of Deck the Halls - add fa and la at your leisure ).

Here's an ode to NZ justice
Hail the cops who do not trust us
They just want us locked in jail
Tell the wife they won't make bail

Evidence will not be needed
Take a statement supersede it
Help the witness's collusion
Help a "victim" with delusion

ACC will make a payout
Will not matter if there is doubt
The taxpayer will not know better
Counsellors will write the letter

Half a year before pre-trial
Then you get to make denial
Lawyers look at all the facets
While they strip you of your assets

Committed straight through to a trial
More claims made that are just vile
Our story still has no conclusion
Hope the jury can spot delusion

Prosecution mind games do play
Judge we hope will have a good day
We'll sit quietly through the foul lies
Hope the "victim" meets her demise

Our story is quite far from ended
Charges have to be defended
Hope the truth will soon prevail
Or an innocent's in jail
