Witnesses in an historic sex abuse
trial have told the high court in Timaru they saw a former Salvation Army
captain in compromising positions with children. Sixty-nine-year old John Francis
Gainsford faces 23 charges including indecent assault and rape invovling
children at the Bramwell Booth Children's home in Temuka in the 1970s.
