The Government has
confirmed an investigation will be carried out into abuse claims at the
Waiouru Regular Force Cadet School. Defence Minister Mark
Burton says he will appoint an independent assessor to review relevant
historical information held by the Defence Force as well as information held
by his office and other parties. Mr Burton says the
independent assessor will be able to put all claims and views in context and
investigate them in a neutral manner. He says any cases which
show criminality will be referred to police. Mr Burton says findings
will be considered by Cabinet for any further action. |
