More sex abuse allegations against police
Another woman comes
forward with sex abuse allegations against two of the officers at centre of
Nicholas rape inquiry
Police have confirmed they are investigating another complaint against two of
the officers at the centre of rape allegations.
A criminal investigation is already being carried out after Louise Nicholas
complained that there was a cover-up when she accused Assistant Commissioner
Clint Rickards, Bob Schollum, who is now a car dealer, and bar owner Brad
Shipton of sexually abusing her, including with a baton.
The alleged incident happened in the 1980s when Mrs Nicholas was 18.
Police have now confirmed they are looking into an allegation made by another
woman against Mr Schollum and Mr Shipton.
The woman claims that in the 1980s, while she was a 16-year-old on work
experience with the police, she was lured to a house in Rotorua by Mr Schollum
for sex. She accuses Mr Shipton of being present and watching.
The Government has ordered a Commission of Inquiry into Mrs Nicholas' claims
and Mr Rickards has been stood down on full pay while investigations take place.
