Police inquiry limited
The inquiry into police conduct has
been asked to hold off part of its investigation.
The commission has been told it should not investigate the cases of some former
police officers, accused of rape, because they could face criminal charges.
Commission Chairman Justice Bruce Robertson says the inquiry will ensure
everyone's rights will be protected.
"Nothing which is done by this inquiry can be permitted to interfere with,
impede or disadvantage anybody in any way," Robertson said.
Police lawyers also asked the commission not to put the private lives of
officers, under public scrutiny.
