One of police-rape accused sells stake in BOP bars

Former policeman Brad Shipton - one of several men facing allegations of historical sexual misconduct - has sold his interest in three Bay of Plenty bars.

Mr Shipton, a city councillor, has strenuously denied the allegations.

He confirmed he had sold his interests in the Mount Mellick, World's End and Bahama Hut to business partner Clayton Mitchell. Mr Shipton said his decision to sell had not been sparked by the inquiry, and the process had been under way for some months.
