The wife of a former police
officer charged with historic sexual offending says the team of detectives
who investigated the case are guilty of unethical conduct. Assistant Commissioner Clint
Rickards and former officers Brad Shipton and Bob Schollum are accused of
kidnapping and indecently assaulting a 16 year old in the 1980s. Brad Shipton's wife, Sharon, was
questioned by the Crown as to why she never told police she and her husband
were on holiday during one of the months the offending is alleged to have
occurred. Mrs Shipton said she would never
assist the investigation team. She also denied the Crown's
assertion that the holiday had been fabricated after the complainant gave
evidence last week. The Crown is expected to call two
further witnesses tomorrow. |
