Shipton's wife admits sharing notes

A key witness in an Auckland police trial has admitted she has been discussing her evidence with one of the accused while she has been testifying in his defence.

Sharon Shipton, wife of former Rotorua policeman Brad Shipton, admitted under cross-examination she has been comparing notes with her husband throughout the trial.

On Monday she was accused of lying to create an alibi for her husband.

Lawyers for Shipton, suspended Assistant Commissioner Clint Rickards, and another former Rotorua policeman Bob Schollum, finished their defence on Monday afternoon.

The three men deny kidnapping and indecently assaulting a teenager in the 1980s.
