The depositions hearing relating to alleged
indecency on children at the Christchurch Civic Child Care Centre by a former
worker, Peter Hugh McGregor Ellis, has been set down
to last five weeks. Ellis, aged 34, unemployed, represented by Mr Robert
Harrison, appeared before Judge Strettell at a pre-depositions
conference in which he was remanded to October 5 for the hearing. The charges involve indecent assault, inducing
indecent acts on himself, and sexual violation on children,
aged between two and four, at the centre between November 1988 and March
1991. While on bail Ellis is to have no contact with the
complainants or their families, .or children at the child care centre. |
