Hager they come, Hager they fall
by Deborah Hill-Cone
When Lynley Hood was researching her acclaimed
book A City Possessed, I hear from
sources, she asked Nicky Hager for suggestions on how to get hold of
confidential government reports.
One would expect someone who fashions himself as a champion of freedom of
speech and a battler for truth would have bent over backward to help shed
light on the Christchurch Civic Creche case. Or not.
Hager cautioned Hood against rocking the boat, saying questioning the reliability
of abuse memories would be extremely upsetting for the victims.
