Radio NZ A childhood friend of an alleged
victim of historical sexual abuse has told a depositions hearing the woman
told her about the relationship as a child. Extensive suppressions surround
the case, which relates to allegations dating back almost 40 years, against a
prominent Canterbury man. The accused is said to have indecently
assaulted the girl before she was 12, then raped her between the ages of 12
and 16. A friend and neighbour of the
complainant said the woman told her about the sexual activity, but she
appeared to be in love with the accused and seemed happy |
