One News There were emotional scenes at the
High Court in Christchurch as a high profile Cantabrian was found guilty on
seven of 12 historical sexual abuse charges. The man, whose identity is
suppressed by a raft of orders, was found guilty on two charges of inducing a
girl under 12 to do an indecent act, three counts of indecent assault, one of
sodomy and one of rape. He was found not guilty on four
other counts of rape. The events date back as far as
1967. The man appeared shaken in the
dock as the verdict was delivered. He has been remanded on bail for
sentencing later in the month. |
