Peter Stewart will be sentenced today in the High Court in Christchurch. He was found guilty in December of
seven historic sex offences, including sodomy, rape and two of inducing a
girl under 12 to do an indecent act. The charges date back to the 60s and
70s. Stewart was found not guilty of several other rape charges. The length of any jail term will
be defined by the laws that applied at the time of the offences. |
