Radio NZ The lawyer for a prominent
Canterbury man who's been jailed for the rape and sodomy of a teenage girl
says his client will appeal against the convictions. 63 year old Peter Maxwell Stewart
has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison on seven sex abuse
charges that date back more than 30 years. He's married to the creator of New
Zealand Fashion Week, Pieter Stewart, and is the son of Sir Robertson Stewart
who founded PDL industries. Outside the court, Stewart's
lawyer, Jonathon Eaton, said his client would fight to clear his name. |
