Radio NZ A prominent Canterbury man has
lodged an appeal against his conviction for the historical rape and sodomy of
a young girl. Peter Stewart, 63, was jailed in
February for three and a half years. He is the husband of the New
Zealand Fashion Week founder, Pieter Stewart, and the son of Sir Robertson
Stewart, who founded the electrical company PDL Industries. His family have released a
statement saying they are united and resolute in their belief that Stewart is
innocent. A date for his Court of Appeal
hearing has yet to be determined. |
