The Dominion Post Former detective inspector David Haslett, a 32-year police veteran, is continuing to work for the wealthy Stewart family, trying to clear Peter Stewart. The Court of Appeal last month dismissed Stewart's bid to have his sex convictions overturned. The 62-year-old son of the late Christchurch plastics magnate Sir Robertson Stewart was jailed in February for 3 1/2 years after being convicted on five charges of indecency with a girl, one count of sodomy and one of rape. The offences occurred between 1967 and 1974.
