Radio New Zealand A court has heard how a woman wept
and shook as she confided to her brother that she'd been raped by a former
rugby league star, after a night out drinking in Auckland. The accused, who has name
suppression, is charged with 3 counts of sexual violation in June last year. A depositions hearing at the
Auckland District court has heard how the woman was heavily intoxicated when
she met the man in a Ponsonby bar. She said she later found herself in
a car where it is alleged she was raped and sexually violated by the former
Kiwi league player. Another five witnesses are due to
give evidence tomorrow. |
