The woman who alleges a Far North
policeman repeatedly raped her will continue giving evidence today. The former officer, who has name
suppression, is on trial in the Auckland District Court facing charges of
rape, sexual violation and assault in 1988. The complainant began her evidence
yesterday claiming the man took her back to the police station where he
worked, handcuffed her and then raped her. She says she made it clear she did
not want to have intercourse with him and when she told him he had raped her,
he replied 'no I didn't, you liked it.' She says at one point, she feared he
would kill her. The defence claims the sex was
consensual.
