A woman who claims she was raped
by a police officer says a Sergeant she complained to took no notes, asked
her who she had told and warned her against telling anyone else. A former constable aged 48 denies
8 charges, including 4 of rape in relation to the Far North incident in 1988. The woman testified at the man's
trial that she told a police officer she was raped on the day it occurred and
showed him bruises where she'd been handcuffed. The sergeant told her he would
speak to the accused and later that day rang her to say the constable had
admitted everything and was under house arrest. He also said the investigation was
under control. She later found out that was not
true
