Girl, 10, made false complaint
A 10-year-old girl has been referred to Youth Aid after making a false sexual
assault complaint.
Timaru detective Mike Wingfield yesterday said police had completed an
investigation into the alleged assault in Balmoral Street in late January.
He said if the girl had been over the age of 14, police would have looked at
charging her for making the false complaint.
