	Radio NZ June 14 2007; 16:14 Hastings police establish 12 yr old rape complaint false The police in Hastings say a 12 year old girl who told them she was raped at night in the grounds of a primary school made a false complaint. The girl told the police two months ago that she was on her way home from a freestyle dance gathering in the centre of Hastings, when she was attacked and sexually assaulted. Detective Sergeant Mike Foster says the results of DNA tests show a 16 year old had sexual intercourse with the girl. He says after speaking to both the girl and the boy the police have established the rape complaint was false. Mike Foster says both will be referred to youth aid.
