Newstalk ZB A Christchurch judge has jailed a
man for rape, despite having considerable unease about the jury's guilty
verdict. Judge David Saunders today
sentenced Kevin Leahy to five years in prison for the rape of a drunk woman. Imposing the sentence, Judge
Saunders said he knew the case would be appealed. Leahy's lawyer Mark Callaghan says
evidence submitted was unreliable. He is planning to lodge an appeal
next week. |
