NZ Herald Police say they are pursuing
several leads after the attempted kidnapping of a 11-year-old boy in Havelock
North on the weekend. Detective Paul Buckley of Hastings
Police said the boy had just left Animalz pet shop on Napier Road on Saturday
afternoon when he was approached by a man who grabbed his arm and tried to
drag him into a parked car. The boy kicked the man in the
shins and ran off. The man was described as
dark-skinned, of medium build with straight black hair. He was wearing a pink
T-shirt with "porn star" in black lettering. He was driving a bronze/tan
coloured 1980s square-shaped saloon with a dent in the left front bumper. Mr Buckley said police were
pursuing several leads and specially trained interviewers would talk to the
boy this week. |
