Police appeal for help in sex attack case

Police investigating a sexual attack on a tourist in the Bay of Islands have repeated their appeal for help from the public.

A 27-year-old British woman says she was dragged from the walking track between the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and the Haruru Falls carpark on Wednesday.

The woman has told police her attacker was an athletically-built European man, who spoke with an American accent.

Detective Sergeant Rhys Johnston says they have already talked to a number of people, but would like to hear from everyone who used the track that day.
