Man faces sexual abuse charges

Another former employee of a Catholic boys' school in Feilding is facing sexual abuse charges.

A 66-year-old retired member of the Catholic Church will appear in the Lower Hutt District Court today.

He has been charged with six counts of indecent assault and one of inducing a boy to do an indecent act.

The offending is alleged to have occurred in the 1970's and 1980's while he was teaching at Hato Paora College.

Brother Andrew Cody, who taught at the same school, was recently jailed for similar offending.

Detective Chris Webster says the two investigations are similar, as both men are believed to have worked at the school at the same time.
