The jury in the trial of
a former Catholic brother facing charges of sexual abuse against boys in the
1970s will resume its deliberations on Tuesday. Bernard McGrath, 58, is
facing 44 charges relating to his time at Maryland's School in Christchurch. During the trial he
pleaded guilty to one charge, while nine other charges were dropped. The jury
was told he had previously been convicted of similar charges. It began its
deliberations early on Monday afternoon and continued into the evening before
retiring for the night. |
