A staff member at a Porirua mental
health unit has been suspended over allegations they assaulted a patient. The Haumietiketike unit is for
intellectually disabled people needing specialist treatment. Capital and Coast District Health
Board has confirmed a staff member has been stood down and it is
investigating an allegation of assault on a male patient.
