Police have confirmed they are
investigating an incident at a Porirua Mental Health Unit. A staff member at the
Haumietikitiki unit has been suspended by Capital and Coast Health after
allegations they assaulted a patient. Police are looking into a second
complaint made by another patient. The secure unit is for
intellectually disabled people needing specialist treatment.
