Salvation Army investigate new abuse claims

The Salvation Army is investigating 28 new complaints of abuse made by people cared for in its homes.

Last week, the army said it was investigating eight complaints.

A spokesman told One News last night that some were claims of sexual abuse by older boys against younger boys, but most related to staff.

Most complaints originated from the Hodderville Boys Home in Putaruru and a home in Masterton.
