Report into abuse allegations due
The long-awaited report
into allegations of abuse at the Waiouru Cadet School is about to be released.
The Government appointed
former High Court Judge David Morris to conduct an inquiry, which was
originally due in March.
The Waiouru Cadet School
closed in 1991 but numerous allegations of sexual and physical abuse surfaced
in recent years.
That was triggered by the
lobbying of the Bain family, who demanded an inquiry into the 1981 fatal
shooting of their son and brother Grant Bain at the school.
Then Defence Minister
Mark Burton ordered the inquiry in October last year but it has been delayed by
legal issues.
New Minister Phil Goff
will release the findings around midday.
