A former army cadet has
filed a claim for $400,000 in damages against the Crown for the abuse he
suffered at the Waiouru Cadet School. The Christchurch man,
who was at the school in the early 1970s, filed the civil action last week. His lawyer Roger
Chapman says he is claiming $350,000 and a further 50 thousand in exemplary
damages for what he describes as "pretty nasty" abuse. He says the man has had
his life messed up by what happened to him and says he deserves to be treated
well now. |
